A Spring Day
Standing alone, solitary, my hair blowing in the breeze,
I want to break my earthly bindings, I long to be free.
At times I wish to be a bird, floating through the air.
Others, I wish to be a wolf, without a single care.
I stand transfixed, my mind wandering over new ideas and thoughts.
I slowly forget the world around me, my fantasy cuts it off.
In my mind, I'm not alone, I have friends whom I can trust.
Many kinds of different friends, but people, they are not.
The wonders of nature suffuse my soul
With joy and numerous tales untold.
I feel a longing begin deep inside,
I want to be of that fantasy world, not of mine.
But, slowly, I return to earth, the place I have to stay,
Until another spring day comes and takes me far away.
A Vision
I close my eyes and see a vision, a scene of me and my love.
Together and alone on a deserted island, no others there to speak of.
We walk through the sand near the ocean shore, thinking only of each other.
We do not touch, yet, in our eyes you can read that we are lovers.
There are no words spoken between us, we merely stand and gaze
Into our eyes and our thoughts are known, this is our special way.
Our love is true, our bond is strong, and we both are sure
That through the months and years to come, our love will endure.
Winter Dreams
On days of winter, while snow glitters,
And I try to stop my teeth's chitters,
I think of summer, when days are warmer
And butterflies with their bright wings flutter
I wish to run out in the sun
Across the plains just having fun.
But, I see, it cannot be
While the snow falls all around me.
