My death I have known for ages hence,
May the Light now stand in my defense
Against the Dark, which caused me strife,
And sought to rule me all my life.
I stand as the rain drops
I stare as the rain falls
I watch the water wash away the dirt
Wishing it were so with my tortured memories
I stand and stare as the rain falls
And the raindrops are my tears
The rain falls as I sit in my room
Trying to fight the pain and the gloom
Pain for that which I wish to be
But, which nothing on earth could ever make me.
Gloom because I am so alone,
Even with a family and a home.
The rain falls continually through the night,
Becoming the tears I must conceal from sight
Running through the night
Trying to escape the fright
Of something that just might
Result in the end of my life
Running through the streets
Something follows me
I know what it could be
And I hope I never see.
Running for my soul
There's no place left to go
But I dare not ever slow
or find end to all I know
